About
For years, Kahani and Kunal Merchant built Indo Warehouse as a world before they built it as an artist.
Their mission was to reimagine what South Asian identity could look and sound like on a modern dance floor. Four years ago, Indo Warehouse emerged from New York’s underground and spread far beyond it. What began in warehouses and late-night gatherings evolved into a global community, helping define the rise of Indo House while bringing a new generation of South Asian voices into contemporary electronic music.
Now, for the first time, the founders step fully into the project themselves.
As a recording and touring duo, Kahani and Kunal create music that sits between memory and futurism: hypnotic club rhythms woven together with folk traditions, cinematic storytelling, and sounds carried across generations and continents. Their work draws as much from migration, ritual, and diaspora as it does from the dance floor, creating records that feel equally at home in headphones, warehouses, and festivals.
The journey has already taken Indo Warehouse from New York’s underground to Coachella, Hï Ibiza, Fabric London, Day Zero, and stages across five continents. But the music feels less like a destination than a continuation—another chapter in an evolving body of work exploring culture, belonging, and the future of electronic music.
